Ian Harris is the CEO and founder of Search Laboratory and is a specialist in search engine marketing for global websites. Ian has been programming for the internet since 1995, has an MSc in internet technologies and has successfully helped companies such as British Airways, IBM, HSBC and Novell tap into new markets and take their websites abroad.
In his previous role as Chief Technical Officer for one of the world’s largest web localisation companies Ian witnessed many large organisations trying to build search campaigns in other languages; either by translating keywords themselves or by using an intern to do the necessary work. Ian formed Search Laboratory to help fill a gap in the market for a dedicated multilingual search engine marketing service. His approach was unique, he used scientific and mathematical methods to improve the efficiency and profitability of search marketing for his clients in all languages.
Search Laboratory is now a global agency with more than 200 clients spanning 18 countries. It manages SEO campaigns in more than 35 languages by employing a large team of linguists in-house at its Leeds HQ.
