As Director of Search, David leads paid and organic search across the EMEA region for MEC (a GroupM/WPP company) and is currently based in Switzerland. Before his regional role, David led the MEC UK SEO team, a team of 30 across Manchester and London.
David has worked across a number of sectors and with a variety of clients including EE, Paramount Pictures, Lloyds Banking Group, Johnson & Johnson, Nintendo and MBNA.
David has earned recognition through a number of awards including being chosen in 2010 as a MediaWeek 30 under 30, and in 2011 winning silver in MediaWeek’s agency rising star category.
David has always had a keen interest in technology and put his first website online in 2000. He stumbled into SEO while having the responsibility for a paid search campaign during a summer internship, as he was intrigued why the business was paying for clicks when it was possible to get to the top of Google without paying for each click.
When not working at MEC, David writes about online marketing at GoodWebPractices, consults for a number of charities, is on the advisory board of icould and teaches students at Salford and Manchester University.
